Sermon Presented By: Pablo Pacheco Jr. On 7/16/05 @ Eternal Gospel
Church In Hialeah
It Won’t Be Water But Fire Next Time
Opening Song: # 416 “The Judgment Has Set”
Closing Song: # 604 “We Know Not the Hour”
Scripture Reading: Luke 17:26-27 (KJV) 26 And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. 27 They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.
GC 343 says: The important movements of the present have their parallel in those of the past, and the experience of the church in former ages has lessons of great value for our own time.
Comment: So today we are going to try to gain an important lesson for our day. For, if we fail to allow the Holy Spirit to reveal to us the importance of our character preparation, it’ll be fire next time.
Let us pray.
The first question that we need to ask ourselves is: How was it in the days of Noah? Gen 6:1-2 1 And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, 2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.
Is it God’s
will for us to have relations with unbelievers?
{2 Cor. 6:14} Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness?
Comment: In this text we see that the first problem was that the sons of God took the daughters of men as wives.
How many of God’s last day remnant
people do we see today doing this very same thing? {CC 131.4}
Christianity ought to
have a controlling influence upon the marriage relation, but it is too often
the case that the motives which lead to this union are not in keeping with
Christian principles. Satan is constantly seeking to strengthen his power over
the people of God by inducing them to enter into alliance with his subjects;
and in order to accomplish this he endeavors to arouse unsanctified passions in
the heart. . . .
But when did their
wickedness become great?
{Gen 6:4-5} 4 There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown. 5 And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
